Biography



   Joohoon Kim received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, USA) in 2007. During his graduate studies, his research interests were focused on development of miniaturized analytical devices such as DNA microarrays and microfluidic devices. As results of the research activities in UT Austin, he published multiple journal articles and filed one US provisional patent. He was awarded a Graduate Fellowship from the American Chemical Society-Division of Analytical Chemistry (ACS-DAC) in 2007. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he moved to University of Chicago (Department of Chemistry, USA) and worked as a postdoctoral fellow until February of 2009. Since then, he has conducted his research as an assistant professor in Kyung Hee University (Department of Chemistry, Korea). His current research interests are the use of nanomaterials as well as miniaturized analytical devices for their applications to bio-analysis.
